As the weeks fly by, returning back to our normal activities before the COVID-19 pandemic ensued is something we are gradually adjusting to. Businesses are opening up, dining areas are becoming available, and services previously unavailable due to quarantines are once again becoming accessible. This is great news, but the reality is that the COVID-19 virus is still out there, and treatment for the virus is still quite limited. We still need to be cautious as we adjust to our normal routines, which is why we at CPT of South Florida are proud to announce the installment of body temperature cameras as one of our services. These cameras use a thermal scanner to scan people as they walk through our doors for abnormal body temperatures as well as absent face masks. You can find our office in Fort Lauderdale.
What Thermal Scanning Accomplishes
A common symptom of illness, including the symptoms accompanied by a COVID-19 infection, is a fever. Fevers are an indication that the body is fighting off a foreign invasion, but as a result, the individual suffers from increased body heats. By using a thermal scanner, we are able to identify when someone is suffering from a fever, thus identifying a possible risk in that individual. Additionally, our scanners are able to detect whether or not someone is wearing a face mask. Face masks exist to restrict our own ability to infect others if we ourselves are carrying a virus. The mask blocks the release of moisture particles which can carry the virus. Even if you think you aren’t sick, it’s possible you could be and are yet to show symptoms. By wearing a mask, you show courtesy to those around you, and if we all wear one, we can limit the spread of the virus.
What Our Body Temperature Cameras Mean for You
At CPT of South Florida, we want to ensure the utmost safety of our clients and our staff. By installing these cameras, you will be able to identify those who pose a threat to you, your staff, and other clients. This protects your employees as well as other clients of the same space. This also indirectly protects future clients as there is less of a risk that any staff members will contract the virus. The lack of a fever is not a guarantee that anyone is free of the coronavirus. However, we still recommend you take great precautions with encouraging social distancing and keeping our environments clean. If someone is identified as having an abnormal body temperature, you can then take the necessary additional steps to assist that client safely and without jeopardizing other clients.
